My young friend Andrea has started a new blog with all her creative things on it. Poetry, machine quilting, Zentangles etc. It's worth a read and can be found here.
Hi and Welcome! I am an artist living in Ellenbrook, WA. I like to draw, paint with acrylics and make artworks on paper with pen and ink. I also like to play with all things textile - fibre, yarn and fabric.
Why Photographs Work. 52 Great Images: Who Made Them, What Makes Them Special and Why by George Barr. A rockynook publication. ISBN 978-1-933952-68-0
I did an online search of the library catalogue for books about art composition and this was one of the ones that came up. It is quite good with an analysis by George followed by the photographers perspective about the image and then a short technical description about how the shot was achieved. I'm finding it interesting.
Recent Reading
Patternmaking for Fashion Design, Fourth Edition by Helen Joseph-Armstrong (ISBN 0-13-111211-2). I am currently drafting basic blocks using this book. Instructions are very detailed and the ring binding means this book is easy to use while doing the drafting because the book stays open and individual pages can be removed for easy reference. I would put this in the "bible" category for pattern drafting.
